After installing a new plugin for Paint Shop Pro, do you receive an Error when trying to use the Plugin?

This error is most likely caused because your computer is missing a few required DLL files. There files are addition DLL files required by your computer to use Plugins for Paint Shop Pro. Certain DLL files must be installed on your computer for the plugin filters to work correctly.

You will find some filters work without needing these while others will not work if you do not have these DLL plugin files.

Here below are the steps for helping your Plugins to work as they are written.

You will need to Download and save this zip file of PSP DLL Plugin Files to your computer. This zip file contains the DLL files you will need in the below steps.

Step 1: Check whether you have MSVCRT10.DLL in your Windows System folder by clicking on one of the following links (depending on where your Window System folder is located on your system). Then press and enter msvcrt10.dll in the Find dialogue.

c:\win95\system\
c:\win98\system\
c:\winnt\system32\

If you do not have this file in your Windows System folder you will need place a copy of the file MSVCRT10.DLL in your Windows/System directory. See download above for this zip file.

Step 2: A few filters also needs the file PLUGIN.DLL in the Windows/System directory to run.

Check whether you have PLUGIN.DLL in your Windows System folder by clicking on one of the following links (depending on where your Window System folder is located on your system). Then press and enter plugin.dll in the Find dialogue.

c:\win98\system\
c:\winnt\system32\

If you do not have this file in your Windows System folder you will need place a copy of the file PLUGIN.DLL in your Windows/System directory. See attached zip file.

Step 3: Make sure you close down Paint Shop pro if you have it open and then you must restart your computer. These files will not take affect until your computer is restarted.

Now try opening Paint Shop Pro and using your filters. It is important to restart your computer so these files added are seen by your computer.
